Herman Northrop Frye, CC , MA , D.Litt. , FRSC (July 14, 1912 – January 23, 1991) was a Canadian literary critic, one of the most distinguished of the twentieth century.
Innate within Sherbrooke, Quebec but raised in Moncton, New Brunswick, Frye studied for his undergrad degree at Victoria College, University of Toronto. He so exposed theology at Emmanuel College, at Victoria University, & was ordained as a minister of the United Church of Canada. When ordination, he exposed at a University of Oxford, before giving to Victoria College for his entire agency career. He number one rose to international prominence whenever however the student. A prophetical poetry of William Blake had long been considered delusional ramblings that can never become understood. Frye died around 1991 and was interred in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto, Ontario.
Within 2000, he was honoured by the government of Canadthe sustaining his image in a postage stamp. The festival devoted to Frye's works requires place each April within Moncton, Future Brunswick.
